Tackling global systemic design challenges, together.
Cewri (pronounced KEW-ree), meaning “Giants” in Welsh, is a Wales-based organisation focused on tackling systemic design challenges.
The name comes from the famous quote; "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants," coined by Sir Isaac Newton in a 1675 letter to Robert Hooke, signifying that scientific and intellectual progress builds upon the foundational knowledge and discoveries of predecessors, allowing later thinkers to see further by leveraging past work. Newton used it to humbly acknowledge the contributions of earlier thinkers like Descartes, Copernicus, and Galileo, whose work formed the base for his own breakthroughs. The phrase illustrates that new knowledge isn't created in a vacuum; it's a cumulative process where each generation of thinkers uses the understanding of those before them to reach new heights.
Cewri is a business built on this premise. Taking system wide, global challenges and bringing together the best ideas and knowledge on the subjects to inform change.
Cewri will support organisations to design and improve services that are accessible, sustainable, and inclusive, with a unique emphasis on bilingual and multilingual design.
